What was the biggest fun during the making of the last album?

Hearing the final production of each song and then comparing it to the demo. Most of the time they are very different songs.

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

I’ll cheat and name two songs 🙂 From the new album I’d say ‘One More Reason’ because it shows a heavier side to my song writing and it’s just a kick ass song. And ‘For You’ as I feel it’s a well written and produced track with a soaring killer chorus.

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?
We all know that the traditional music industry model is dying. Technology has given musicians the opportunity to self produce and to share their music around the world. There is great music out there if you look for it!

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?
Tough question. Honestly I have absolutely no idea.

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixt tape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

Another tough one! Today I’ll say ‘Broken Over You’ by Vertical Horizon, ‘In Love With a Girl’ by Gavin Degraw, ‘Piece by Piece’ by Kelly Clarkson, ‘We Found Love’ by Ed Sheeran, ‘You Ruin Me’ by The Veronicas.

What’s up for the next couple of months?

I’ve just released my new album so I’ll be relaxing 🙂

PINK CREAM 69 – Dennis Ward

What was the biggest fun during the making of the last album?

Me getting drunk with myself whilst mixing the album!

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

“I come from a land down under” because I work in a cellar… all day…

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?

“So they say”?? Are you kidding? “Completely” is the right way to explain it. What it brought me was my job, so that’s good.  It didn’t bring me eternal youth though.

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?

If there is such a great musician that no-one has ever heard of then I haven’t heard of them either I’m afraid.

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixtape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

I would tell her that because of her request there would be no second date.

What’s up for the next couple of months?

I’m working on some projects and PC69 has some shows this summer.  Hope to see everyone there!

TODD HOBIN

What was the biggest fun during the making of Keepin’ the Dream Alive? Can you still remember how the songs came together?

Every day was an adventure. Unlike our previous albums we booked studio time and secured a great producer (Mark Doyle) before we even had songs written. We walked into the studio with pretty much a blank sheet of paper and started writing. The fun was in the unbridled work of creation.

Sadly, I died near the end of these sessions. Mark and Doug Moncrief wrapped it up. True story, it was a tumultuous year. Keepin’ the Dream Alive took on a whole new meaning for us. Good doctors brought me back from the land of the lost and I was able to rejoin the band.

I can’t listen to this album without reliving some of the pain of that year. But, the songs have endured and the trauma we lived through was worth the pain of birthing this album.

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

Let It Roll. Somewhere deep inside all of us who play rock lives a little Elvis. His swagger, his cool, his reverence to the blues and gospel, as well as his boyish charm and quest for fun have influenced everything that came after him.

This song is homage to my roots. You can hear the influence of Elvis, the Jordanaires, Jerry Lee Lewis, and even the Big Bopper in this track.

Somewhere between that song and Tonight, I Wanna Be Lonely is who I am.

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?

I’m lucky. I survive by doing my art. And when I’m not doing my art, I’m helping others with theirs. We own all the masters to our music, and the publishing as well. We also own our own studio. So for us, the changes in technology and the internet have helped us reach our fans.

On the down side, all of us have noticed that there is a lot of inferior music out there. Anybody can release anything they want. Touring is harder with a lot of wannabees willing to play for nothing. If we dumb down the art, the audience gets dumber and expects free music that they don’t really care about. Music becomes background music. Young musicians should aspire to greatness, not just acceptance.

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?

I teach a college course in the History of Rock n Roll. Every year I make a prediction about who will be the next big break out artist. In past years I’ve chosen, Mumford and Sons, Adele, and Zac Brown. Last year my pick was Tori Kelly. In just about every case, when I introduced these artists to my classes not one of the students had ever heard of them.

This year, I am totally baffled.

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixt tape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

I Love You Just the Way You Are – by Billy Joel, The Nearness of You – Sinatra’s version, We Found Love – Ed Sheeran, (I’d insert the next song I write right here. It would be titled with “Her Name”), Bolero – Ravel. If that don’t score a second date, I’d move on.

I am an old, hopeless romantic. I love my wife like crazy. I think I’ll write that next song right now. I’ll call it “Joann”.

What’s up for the next couple of months?

I am recovering from vocal strain. I haven’t performed since November. SO, what’s next is my vocal rehab tour. The first date is with my songwriting partner and bandmate, Doug Moncrief – May 6th at the Ontario Performing Arts Center. I’m going to ease back into the full band concert dates by doing a few solo and duo shows. By July, we’ll take the monster back out on the road. I’m lucky enough to play in one of the best rock bands in the world… going on 42 years with the same guys.

New songs are in the pipeline.

BLOOD RED SAINTS – Lee Revill

What was the biggest fun during the making of the last album?

The whole process was a blast from the start … from recording the early demos of the tracks right through to hearing them evolve into what you hear on the finished CD. Working with the guys in this band is what makes it all worth while and is so much fun to be involved in. It’s an honour to work with Mr.Godfrey , Mr.Naylor  Mr.Newdeck and Mr.Parrat.

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

I am very proud of all the tracks but if I had to pick one it would be the track Dangerous. It is a good marker of what I like in a song, powerful, moody and a big chorus. We were all really pleased with how it turned out.

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?

I think everyone agrees that with the internet came a massive change in how we listen to music ..from iTunes, Spotify and to Youtube you can access many new bands and different types of music at the click of a button. So while I think that this has been a good thing, being from an era in the 80’s and 90’s I kinda miss the excitement of going round to your mates house to check out the new album he got on import or listening to it at your local record shop or waiting to read the inside cover of your favorite bands new Album.

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?

I personally think that would be Mr.Pete Godfrey, who is a gem of a singer/songwriter and has the qualities to write for any genre he chooses to. He is now slowly getting the recognition he thoroughly deserves by being the frontman for Blood Red Saints and also receiving requests for his skills as a songwriter from other signed acts.

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixt tape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

1-  Just Take My Heart – Mr.Big

2-Something in your Mouth -Nickelback

3-I’ll Be There For You- Bon Jovi

4-Smooth Up In Ya – Bullet Boys

5- I’m A Believer- Giant

What’s up for the next couple of months?

We have tour dates across the UK booked in with Romeo’s Daughter, Vega  and Newman….and have just played HRH in Wales which was fantastic. Then it’s on to recording album number two for the Blood Red Saints.

What was the biggest fun during the making of the last album?

Getting the final mixes of the finished tracks.

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

“Digging Up The Dirt” – it’s one of the best tracks we’ve ever recorded.

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?

More work, less record sales, more illegal downloads.

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?

Jim Kirkpatrick… you’d have to ask him yourself.

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixt tape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

LORELEY

LoReley-2015-Here-We-Are-Again.jpeg

What was the biggest fun during the making of the last album?

The truth is that we had a lot of fun during the making of this album. During the studio sessions, while we were recording the backing vocals for example. It was really funny to take out from the past these songs that we started to compose ten years ago. Now that we are 50 years old (more or less…) we yearn to keep on rocking. To share our passion for music together, is maybe the most amazing part of the story.

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

Any of them I think. Every single song of the record is different from the rest, you can even feel the spirit of the band in every one of them. It probably depends on the moment or the state of mind you feel in. However, the songs we like are not necessary the songs the audience or the critics prefer to hear. I mean it depends on everyone…

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?

Yes it´s true, the music industry has changed over the last few years a lot and in my opinion and it is a positive thing. In previous decades, the bands had to rely on the record companies too much and they took advantage of the situation. Thanks to the support of the new technologic we can directly communicate with the people without the participation of an intermediary. This is a new, practical and the cheapest way to make music and connect with the whole world.

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?

We don´t know because nobody has heard of him/her yet… Seriously, we do not think that there is a best musician. It doesn’t really make much sense to look for it because whatever you do, someone, somewhere, anytime (maybe right here and right now) is better, faster or stronger than you are. You just might be the best in your own way because of the undeniable fact that every one of us is a unique person. Anyway, the most important think really, is the kind of person you are and the way you act trying to make this world a better one.

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixtape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

For Gilbert (Bass player) A new kid in town – Eagles

For Francisco (Guitar player) Hellion – Judas Priest

For Héctor (Keyboards) La Vida Loca – Francisco Céspedes

For Roberto (Drums) I´ll Stand by You – Pretenders

For Franck (Lead vocal) You take my breath away – Queen

What’s up for the next couple of months?

We are currently writing new songs to get back to the studio to record a new work as soon as possible. We are also working hard to extend our set list for the next shows and preparing several performances in Spain, quite probably also abroad which will be confirmed soon. We feel very excited: like our own song tells” here we are again” and we hope that it will be for a very long time.

MISS BEHAVIOUR – Erik Heikne

Miss-Behaviour-Double-Agent-350x350.jpg

What was the biggest fun during the making of the last album?

The whole process was a bit complicated. Our friend and manager passed away during the making of the album and it affected the whole thing. In perspective, I’m satisfied with Double Agent, I think it is a worthy follow up to Last Woman Standing. We simply achieve the very best we was capable of at the time, but this time, with the new album, we have really managed to make an album that will make a bigger impact I think.

If we want to know you, which song do we have to listen to? And why?

I´d say “Till we meet again” from Last Woman Standing, the title track from the same album and maybe “Cold Response” from Double Agent. Miss Behaviour have always been about putting the melodies in the first room. These three songs are all different from each other, but they all capture our sound.

The music industry has changed a lot (or so they say). What did it bring you? And what not?

I studied music management a decade ago or so, and then it was all about selling albums. Today there is a whole new generation who doesn’t get in their DNA to pay for music and that’s irreversible, unfortunately. It basically brought us less money in our pockets and that’s sad. For me, who like great albums with great production, I think the quality in general has decreased. Its simple logic, less money, less quality. You can’t make a great hard rock album with just a lap top!

Who is the best musician in the world nobody has heard of yet? And why will this change very soon?

Hopefully that is my son. He´s 6 months old and he is already fascinated by rock music and guitars! His second name is Yngwie, so he has a heritage to live up to!

She tells you she will decide on a 5-song-mixt tape if there is going to be a second date. Which 5 would you put on?

I’d go with music that is close to my heart, and that does not necessarily mean love songs. Music I love, like: Yngwie Malmsteen, Toto, Europe, Foreigner and Michael Jackson.

What’s up for the next couple of months?

We are right in the mixing process of our brand new album and I’m so excited! This album will be something special. This time, we work together with a great producer, Patrik Magnusson, and he has managed to bring out the very best of Miss Behaviour. Our fans will definitely recognize us and our sound, but we have managed to take it to a new level. A bit heavier but still melodic. It has been a difficult process though, Sebastian have had some voice issues but he is fine now and sound greater than ever. You won’t be disappointed!

Looking forward to see them play at the HEAT Festival  🙂

We look very much forward to that to!
